'Copenhagen Through my eyes, or healthy people, healthy town' May 2014

’Copenhagen through my eyes, or healthy people, healthy town’

This video will shortly tell you about city, urban spaces and planning, parks &recreational possiblilities and the people.

Copenhagen is a good model in terms of urban planning and design. It is also something of a transport pioneer, aiming to become the world’s most practicable city for cyclists. Its goal is to have 50 % of people cycling to their place of work or education by 2015 (35 % cycled to their workplace or school in 2010), helping the city reach an ambitious goal of being CO2 neutral by 2025

This year, Copenhagen is European Green Capital, that means  city  has high environmental standards.
Copenhagen has many parks and gardens that are perfect places to relax, sunbathe, go for a stroll or have a picnic. Most parks offer lots of playground fun for the kids. Some parks and offered recreational possibilities there are shown in this movie.

King's Garden
King's Garden, the garden of Rosenborg Castle, is the oldest and most visited park in Copenhagen.
n the summer months it is packed with sunbathers, picknickers and ballplayers. It also serves as a sculpture garden with a permanent display of sculptures as well as temporary exhibits during summer.

  .
Botanical Garden
It serves both research, educational and recreational purposes. Copenhagen Botanical Garden is an informal garden with free admission. There are conservatories, a museum and herbarium, a library (admission by appointment only) a shop plants, seeds and a small selection of garden equipment and eating place.

Frederiksberg Park
Frederiksberg Park is one of the largest and most attractive greenspaces in Copenhagen, designed in the English style.
Every year on Midsummer Eve, the park is a rallying point for thousands of people who attend community singing, speeches, music and a "witch"-burning bonfire at the lakeside in front of the palace.

Langeline park
The Langelinie Park stretches from Esplanaden in the south to Langelinie Marina and the base of the
Langelinie Pier in the north. The park contains numerous monuments, buildings, a marina, statues and a playground. Among these are the Gefion Fountain, the Ivar Huitfeldt Column andThe Little Mermaid.

Tivoli Gardens
Tivoli Gardens (or simply Tivoli) is a famous amusement park.
From the very start, Tivoli included a variety of attractions: buildings in the exotic style of an imaginary Orient: a theatre, band stands, restaurants and cafés, flower gardens, and mechanical amusement rides such as a merry-go-round and a primitive scenic railway. Here visitors can find different possibilities for recreation.

Christianshavn

Freetown Christiania, a partially self-governing neighborhood which has established semi-legal status as an independent community in an area of abandoned military barracks, appears as a "city within the city". It has a considerable population and is a venue for many cultural events as well as experimental and idiosyncratic "Architecture Without Architects".

It is official municipal policy in Copenhagen that all citizens by 2015 must be able to reach a park or beach on foot in less than 15 minutes
